Asian Art Museum

San Francisco, CA

Completed: 2003

George Sexton Associates provided exhibition design services to collaborate in the transformation of the former San Francisco Public Library into a new home for the museum. George Sexton Associates developed a family of freestanding and built-in casework design to provide a setting for the display of approximately 2,500 objects from the museum’s permanent collection. The gallery casework provided easy  access to a single museum staff person, security for the objects within, a passively controlled environment for sensitive objects, adequate structure to withstand seismic forces, and Integrated lighting for built-in conditions.
